FINDINGS:
During the 2026 Hydrotreater Turnaround, visual inspection of E-520 (Reactor Feed / Effluent Exchanger) — Shell revealed corrosion that exceeded the acceptance criteria per API 510 section 5. Refer to the information below for specific dimensions of the aforementioned defects.
Course 2 dropped 0.021 in since the 2023 survey, which projects to t-min inside two runs.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
- Option 1: Add an 8-point CML grid on course 2 and re-survey at the next internal.
JUSTIFICATION(S):
The trend is real but the wall is still well above minimum, so monitoring is the proportionate response.
